This red combines a vibrant structure with pure fruit, elegance and intensity. Cherry, strawberry, licorice, wild herb, mineral and tobacco flavors align with the supple texture, while fine-grained tannins emerge midpalate and build to the long, spirited finish. Best from 2026 through 2046.
Fresh and finely meshed, with minerally hints of chalk and saline underscoring flavors of yellow apple, pear, spring blossoms and grapefruit pith. This drapes the palate like raw silk-textured but without excessive weight, lingering on the lightly spiced finish. Drink now through 2031.
Sweet berries, meat and grilled citrus on the nose. Some crushed cement, too. Medium body, bright acidity, light tannins and a juicy finish. Very minerally and citrusy. From organically grown, native Tuscan grapes. Drink now.
The 2018 Chardonnay Lowengang captivates with its understated yet deeply layered bouquet, as sweet smoke blows off to reveal ripe peaches complemented by a mix of curry leaves and fresh vanilla bean. This is silky and elegant in texture, yet not weighty in feel, as contrasting notes of lemon oil and granny smith apple give way to an enriching air of confectionary custards. It leaves a concentration of tart orchard fruits and salty minerals to linger, while finishing remarkably long, but also fresh. There is simply so much going on in this glass and only more to come through medium-term cellaring. The integration of oak is spot-on. This is Italian Chardonnay done right.
Distinctly savory and spicy in the glass, the 2018 Brut Oudeis wafts up with notes of crushed stone, dusty sage, ground ginger and citrus zest. It's elegant and round on the palate, with saline minerals and brisk acidity enlivening the tart orchard fruits. This finishes with a balanced inner sweetness, and sour lemon hints add a lovely contrast. The 2018 Oudeis is a big step up from the 2017 tasted last year. It's a blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay.
BEST BUY! This 100% Corvina highlights the beauty and depth of this grape. The wine opens with a balanced mix of dried herbs, savory spices and wild red fruits. The wine finishes with a vibrant and refreshing level of acidity, giving it lift at the end of each glass
The 2017 Barbaresco Riserva Camp Gros Martinenga is ripe with a bit darker tone, offering notes of anise, grenadine, and cedar. It is medium-bodied, with a firm core of fruit and earth, as well as freshness and a ripe tannin structure. Its notes pf tea leaves, bergamot, and red cherry are long on the palate. Hold this another year and drink 2024-2040. |
